Roti Shop - Coram

I've been going to this place for a while now off and on. I've tried the curry goat, stew peas, oxtail (three times and each time it tastes different) most of the soups, ackee and salt fish and the patties. Today I tried the oxtail again and today I realized that it was different yet again from the other times I had oxtail. I must say I was very dissatisfied this time as I got at least two mouthfuls of ginger. It wasn't easy to tell it wasn't meat because the gravy is dark and the pieces of ginger were huge. No problem I like ginger but ok it was just a lot that could have been just chopped up smaller. The main thing I did not like was that they seem to be supplementing the oxtail meat with other (cheaper) cuts of beef. I understand oxtail has become very expensive but come on! We are paying more for oxtail in general now so I want it all to be oxtail!! Adding other cheaper cuts of beef is what my mother would do to stretch the pot for more people but damn I want all oxtail if I order oxtail! I probably would only return for the soups in the future if I want a quick meal. The soups are consistently delicious and are great when you don't have time to cook. The roti is not made on the premises but it was okay tasting. The people at the counter were pleasant and helpful and the restaurant was neat and clean as usual.

Excellent Authentic Jamaican food.Get there early cause, every day they sell out of the best J Chicken in Suffolk County.Lots of delicious other options.Everything is delicious.Very friendly and professional staff.Generous portions.I would consider catering from this restaurant.The restaurant is take out style with casual seating.

The food here is decent. This is the place that you go to if you don't feel like cooking at home.I had some Cow Foot Soup today.Every day there is a different soup of the day. Yesterday it was Mannish Water (Goat Head Soup).The prices here are fair.There is free parking in the side lot.Christmas Fruit Cake arrives tomorrow on Dec 11. Last year their cake was super moist and sweet. I loved it.

Good food but staff not friendly. No greeting, went there before they closed around 7, got off late from work and needed dinner. basically that's the same attitude they have every time, they're not very friendly, they are about the business, no hello, just what do you want. You got to be quick about it too because the server will be impatient. The food is excellent, it's a shame they don't understand that customer relations plays a big part in where people go when they want to purchase something, customers usually go back where you feel welcomed. I've been going there for years and I think they may changed staff or owners because it so different 2018,2019 compared to now. Too bad.

Bought roti skins there. Was pricy but was very well done
