This restaurant is overpriced and not very good. The sushi rolls are small and there is often a long wait of over 40 minutes for them. It is not worth the money, especially when there are many other superior sushi restaurants nearby. Additionally, I have observed staff being overly familiar with customers, which created a uncomfortable atmosphere. Overall, this place just doesn't have the right vibe.
I cannot believe this is the only hibachi table in town! Our family was celebrating a big birthday and we decided to go to Konomi. It did not disappoint. The prices were a bit high for my taste, but since it is the only hibachi table in town, it was understandable. The experience, quality, and portion sizes were definitely worth it. I enjoyed the chicken and shrimp, while my kids shared a chicken entree and still had leftovers. The sushi we ordered was amazing, and I will definitely order more next time. The sparkling sake on the menu was reasonably priced and delicious. Parking was not an issue at all. The staff was friendly, although our waitress was not very knowledgeable about the menu. Tip: Make sure to call at least two weeks in advance to secure a table, as they are short-staffed and only operating one or two tables at a time.
We checked this place out while on a close-to-home overnight getaway. We got there shortly after they opened and they filled up fast! We explored the menu quite a bit and found nothing we didn't enjoy. The stir-fried yakisoba noodles with shrimp were exactly the combination of flavors and crunch I was hoping for. I went with the double tuna roll. We also tried the Captain Crunch and the Kelborn. I think of the three the Captain Crunch was the most pleasantly surprising, but I'd explore more of their sushi offerings before circling back to any of these. There were many more delicious sounding options! The steamed buns were outstanding. We tried the grilled chicken and the pork belly. I would get the pork belling again but try a different option before the grilled chicken. Nothing bad about it but the flavors popped better with the pork belly. We wanted a taste of something sweet and were told about the mochi option. This is a hard to describe item but basically sorbet wrapped in a raw dough (from what I could tell). We went with the mango sorbet. We had no idea what to expect from these, but they were easy to eat and tasty bites. I think I would try them again but with a coffee next time.
Yummy! This was my first EVER experience at a sushi restaurant. I was pleased to see that they offer other selections than just seafood (yes...I know... . The chicken teriyaki roll was delicious. I should have gotten two. One roll wasn't enough. : The edamame was the perfect appetizer.
