Greenlife Gables, Fl - Coral Gables

The food is ridiculously overpriced. The restaurant tries to over charge you. The manager is incredibly rude. This used to be a favorite, but I definitely won't go back there.

We used to be regulars, but have been turned off by two bad experiences in a row with poor service. On the first occasion the waiter came by, threw a few straws on the table marking it as his said he'd be back to take drink orders. 15 minutes later we asked another server for assistance and she said she'd get our server. Five minutes later we walked out. A few weeks later we tried again, and this time my husband pointed out to the expediter serving our entrees that he had never received his soup. Rather than apologizing, the server brought the soup *at the end of the meal*, with no offer to remove it from the bill when it was refused. This restaurant must be under new ownership. The former owners also ran Bugatti, a tightly run Italian restaurant with impeccable service. Nothing like that here now at the Diner.

The Gables Diner was a wonderful dining experience for me. The food was great, the service was great, and the atmosphere was more than your usual diner, this one was a bit more ;classy ;. The owner came over to make sure everything was cooked to perfection, and exchange pleasantries which were an exceptionally nice touch to the dinner. We all had an enjoyable experience at the Coral Gables Diner.

My husband and I go to the Diner three times a week, sometimes more. The food is good, with interesting variety. But if your looking for good service go somewhere else.

I have visited the Gables Diner several times this year. They have an awesome brunch on Saturday and Sunday, with such incomparable choices as Huevos Rancheros, Swiss Muesli, Chocolate Chip Pancakes and Belgian Waffles. Their regular lunch and dinner is also awesome featuring unbelievable seafood and steak specialties, salads, sandwiches and pizzas, such as the Sesame Chicken Salad and the greatest hamburger I have ever tried: the ;Holy Smoke ;. Both food and service have always been excellent.
