Lucky Gate Chinese Restaurant

Authentic Chinese food with quick service (but just like all other chinese restaurants you do not go there for the atmosphere or services). Especially like the seafood shaved noodles!

Really good food, mediocre service, bad quality control. I tend to go here a lot just for their deep fried spicy chicken and potatoes. If you're expecting western Chinese food this isn't it. This place is delicious but the flavours can be too adventurous for most western living folk. <br/ <br/ Give it a try.

I think discovering a dive, having the courage to go in and sample their dishes and being amazed by the authenticity is one of the happiest experiences a foodie would have. That is how I found Lucky Gate. At the end of the day, I would consider myself lucky.   Going there with Banana Girl, I already know what I want to order. Love the food, and the hand pulled noodle, and they have also a pork backbone soup that is not on the menu, i do recommen that dish because i love the blandness yet still aromatic soup broth. : the dumplings are okay and xiao long bao are good, loved the dishes over here, <br/ <br/ the taste of noodle soup or stirfried they are both good. <br/ <br/ overall i would recommend the food in here and the price is definitelyl worth the food in my opinion :

I never thought I'd gush about a place, but for a noodle and dumplings fanatic, this place is amazing! I would highly recommend the fish dumplings and the green bean and pork dumplings. These rare flavors blew me away the first time I tried them. I have not tried anything comparable since. Other specialty such as the ringed pancake and the shaved noodles are pretty good too. Too bad the place is just so darn far from Vancouver.
