I am back on my search for authentic Thai food
I finally decided to try this restaurant after hearing about it for over a year. With everything going on in the world, I never found the time to visit. My wife and I planned a special evening at home, with a beautiful setup and a Thai meal. I decided to pick up the order myself instead of opting for delivery, concerned that the food might not stay hot. Unfortunately, when I arrived home and tried the food, I was disappointed. I had no high expectations, but even so, the dishes were bland and lacking in flavor. The $60 meal for one was not worth it. The calamari seemed to have been reheated in a microwave and everything was drowned in salad. It felt like they were cutting corners to save time and money, resulting in a lackluster dining experience.
I live in the building next door and we wanted to try this place for months; we finally did it and it was phenomenal! I thought it looked a bit expensive and the menu was different than most thai places ever tried, but it was worth beyond. the quality of the food and seasoned were delicious. my wife also has a Thai bubble tee and she is obsessed. also these photos are terrible, we have already dig into the food, but you can see the aromes! make them like one and try it!
We got tom yum suppe and it was very, very sweet- cute amount of huh in me and they get two garnels and many mushrooms with this choice, there were no water chestnuts in it. the eaten rice was delicious. the whole fish came with white rice and had crispy skin, but blande and the garlic sauce was so sweet that I asked about the Tamarind sauce and that was also really sweet. just not my taste here. I like to sit in the corner of the restaurant I go to, if possible and since the sun became deeper, near 5:00 on ostar, the sun on the table and I could not completely close the curtain, too late to move to another table so that I began to be irritated. no alcohol served here or salat type salate if they want these options. it was clean, our server was beautiful and attentive.
Rain Thai is definitely a must try! When I walked in, I saw they had a vegan curry puff and bubble teas which I knew I had to try. I bought the green tea bubble tea and was pleasantly surprised. It was absolutely delicious and only 5 dollars. The vegan curry puff was also out of this world. Hopefully it's a permanent staple on the menu because everyone must try it! It was just spicy enough and was served with a sweet sauce on the side. The pineapple fried rice my boyfriend and I ordered came in a pineapple which I always love since it's so cute and creative. There's also a pretty bench where you can take Instagram photos. Again, I really recommend this place!
