The staff is friendly and welcoming, so I always make sure to book ahead. Although the food can be a bit pricey, it is hearty and delicious. The restaurant is located on top of Mt Gladstone, making it a lovely spot to dine.
Went here with some friends as we travelled from Canberra and heard good things about this place even if the locals um 'ed and ah 'ed at us. When we got there a serious turn off was the outside looking like a storybook graveyard. What made it was worse the main lady (older lady) who was taking our order but made us feel bad for not wanting to order drinks at the same time. I 'll take a lot of things but I won 't take someone being angry at a group of paying customers who were there to pay for some good food not want drinks at the same time, not everyone wants that. So we sat down to see what was on the menu and heard a comment made by this lady We didn 't put up with it and left. Unfortunately when we were leaving an older man asked us how was the food (this was the same man who drove up our rear on the way up to the hut) and we said we were leaving due to the attitude, he didn 't offer and apology and said it happens.. It does not happen being so rude people walk out isn 't the vibe. This place isnt ' the vibe either. We won 't be returning.
I traveled from the coast back in April and visited this restaurant with a friend. Upon arrival, we noticed that the owners did not seem to care about the appearance of the building and the surrounding grounds. Despite this, the food was delicious and well-prepared. However, the pricing seemed a bit unexpected. Additionally, it is important for the restaurant to have water available since they serve alcohol. While dining, we could hear kitchen staff arguing, which was off-putting. Overall, the food was good, but we will not be returning due to the issues mentioned.
Absolutely stunning! The goulash was amazing and the strudel was perfect. I have been to Switzerland and Germany, but this restaurant was even better.
