Hanami Japanese Restaurant

The sushi is the stand out on the menu especially the crispy chicken one. Service was only average; only one other table and had to ask for water etc.

After a trail walk at Mount Coolum, this place was an absolute delight. The food was fresh and delicious. Great for when you are after a light healthy lunch.

Food looked great on the menu. Had to order at the counter and it took a long time for staff to realise that we were waiting to order. After finally placing and paying for our order, we went and sat down and waited again for service to bring our drinks and entree dishes. We ended up going to the fridge and getting them ourselves. No staff were to be seen. When the food did arrive it was cold (when it should have been hot) and two dishes were not ordered by us, but another table. Then had to wait again for the right dishes to come out. By far one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Must say that the food was nicely presented and flavoursome. But not worth the 1 1/2 hour wait.

I have been to this restaurant twice. I am not a local but I do visit Coolum Beach from time to time. I like my Japanese cuisine and unfortunately decent Japanese restaurants are few and far between on the Sunshine Coast. The pricing was very good and the food very nice. Not entirely an authentic menu but lovely just the same.

Udon is amazing, delicious chicken karage bowl and so reasonably priced. Service is fantastic, food on the table very quickly.
