River of Gold Motel Restaurant

I stayed at the River of Gold Motel earlier this week for a business trip and was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The room was clean and comfortable, with great air conditioning for the hot and humid days. What stood out the most was not only the service from Mick, Lee, and their staff, but also the amazing food and wine at the hotel restaurant! My colleague and I dined there both nights and the food was fantastic. The barramundi and salmon were cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this place for anyone traveling to Cooktown for a great accommodation, delicious meals, and friendly staff.

This restaurant has the best steaks and seafood queen insland a wonderful selection, but still top quality, tender and tastefully cooked to perfection of them on the hot rocks just cut them a juicy part and go! also an extra tempting array for the. who want to do it for them

Meal was served either with salat chips or vegetables, a full plate was no type as I treat with a deer main meal

The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, which was a pleasant surprise. The quality of the food exceeded my expectations, and the presentation was fabulous. A truly enjoyable dining experience.

While on a sunset boat trip down the Endeavour River we asked the skipper best place to eat fish in Cooktown. Nick the skipper told us without doubt it's the River of Gold motel restaurant. The place was booked out the next evening but we...were squeezed in after a last minute cancellation. I had the best fish I've eaten in years. The coral trout is caught locally and cooked to perfection. We tried to book in again two days later and the restaurant was booked out again. Luckily we ran into Mick the owner and after telling him how keen we were to return he rearranged things so we could fit in. This time we both had the coral trout and it was delicious again. Highly recommended.
