Hannover House Coagh - Cookstown

We go there every few weeks and it's always amazing. As soon as u walk in there's a warm feel about the place and u are seated there and then with no mucking about . Drinks order is taken and with u in mins , u can order whatever u want and they are even willing to mix and match side orders . Chips are proper chips and the Gammon is to die for . They also do brilliant burgers and fish is large and very tastie. Overall a great resturant and bar with a very warm welcome . Staff are marvellous.

I am at a loss for words to describe this restaurant! The food tasted like it was bought from a store, even though it was advertised as homemade. I had planned to make a reservation for myself, my husband, and my three children (all under 10 years old) for Christmas dinner, but I was shocked to discover that the price was £55 per adult and £29 per child under 11. As a mother of three young children, I know they wouldn't eat much, so I was surprised by the high prices. Spending almost £200 on a carvery in a small, outdated, stuffy room that resembles a 19th-century school seemed unreasonable. The loud music, always playing old school country that many older customers don't enjoy, made the experience even less enjoyable. The staff did not meet my expectations; many seemed underage, and the young girls appeared overwhelmed and unorganized. I overheard management being rude and disrespectful, and it seemed like they provided little to no support to the staff. While some parts of the food were okay, it mostly tasted like branded products rather than homemade. I also noticed that the utensils had old food stuck to them and water stains. As a restaurant that prides itself on being upscale and well-maintained, this was disappointing. An inspection is definitely needed.

This restaurant in Coagh may be the only option in town, but it offers a great meal at a reasonable price. During our visit for lunch, we did not need a reservation as the restaurant was empty upon arrival. Located next to the Ballinderry River, the quaint setting adds to the charm of the old building on the outskirts of Coagh. There is a child play area and access to the river nearby. The food was tasty, with the only minor issue being a slightly greasy fried egg. However, the generous portion sizes more than made up for it. The side salad with the Hanover Burger was substantial, and my daughter could not finish her prawn salad. Despite some negative reviews about the setting, we found it charming with a comfortable dining area. The service was good, and there was ample parking behind the restaurant. My daughter was so impressed that she wants to return with her family. Overall, it is a cost-effective option for a hearty meal in a pleasant environment.

Where do you start?? Upon arriving at the car park and seeing how busy it was we were looking forward surely somewhere so busy must be good. Sadly that was not the case. The website advertises this as fine dining which I can honestly say has to be the most polar opposite of what this place is. The decor is terrible and furniture is very very dated. The large room where we sat for the carvery was laid out like a school dining room all very perculiar. We were there for a 5 Course Carvery which is more like a Buffett with a carvery course. The food was not good at all. The meats on the carvery which the website stated were cooked to perfection were awful. The beef was that dry it was inedible the same can be said about the pork and turkey. I requested whether they had any beef that was a little moister and more on the medium side rather than a texture more dry than a cream cracker. This was request was met with a response of this is how everyone likes it. The veg was poor, the only positive was the cauliflower cheese. The Yorkshire puddings looked frozen rather than homemade. All in all not a fine dining experience at all. If this was produced by a proffessional chef it’s questionable??
