We met up here with old friends, as Cookstown is about half way between their home in Armagh, and ours in Coleraine. We had never eaten there before, but decided to give it a try. All five of us were very satisfied with the good food, and the very warm and friendly service we received. The restaurant is on the main street in the town, and there is plenty of street parking there. I would certainly recommend it as good location for good food, at a reasonable price, with good service too. It was a very cool Winter day, with snow showers, but the welcome was warm, and the food well cooked and hot. We all had two courses, and the portions were very generous.
Heard so much about this place had to try. sorry but not impressed. very confusing.. most cafe restaurants have menus at table and someone to serve. order at counter and dont matter if your a big gang (yes confusing having to walk up to counter and ordering for a number of people). Did not see a sign to say this and after many staff just walking by and us sitting for 15 mins had to ask what the score was. Be advised for the prices unlike the other local eateries you dont get even a tiny side of lettuce This is all extra. so a wrap for 4.95 add a few chips and little bit of slaw works out at 7.45.... rip off. then having got food half way through no drinks had arrived had to ask. poor value poor customer service . sorry
I went in here one day out of the blue and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious and filling salad I had gotten. The hot chocolate was beautiful and I made a point of going back several times. The next few trips were hot food and I had a great meal of scampi, chips and tartar with lots of side salad and the pan fried chicken with mushroom sauce was unbelievable.
Called here with my 2 wee girls for lunch. I ordered kids goujons and chips and asked for them to come out on separate plates as one eats goujons and the other eats chips. The food arrived on the same plate and I asked again for another plate it was dirty and I asked the waitress to replace it. She did so but without an apology. My wee girl cut into the goujon and it shot of the plate certainly overcooked. I ordered a sausage roll and coleslaw with a few chips on the side. The menu board stated that this cost £2.50 with chips being extra. However when I paid the bill the waitress said coleslaw wasn't included and was an extra 60p I wasn't going to argue over that but my bill in total was £15.15! Drinks were overpriced and warm even though they came out of the fridge! £1.20 for small bottle of water and £1 for a fruit shoot!! Def will not return as other restaurants ofter better quality food for the same price!
