After missing out a few times, I made it a priority to go for our 9-year wedding anniversary, and I'm so glad I did. This restaurant has a unique and charming atmosphere. Unlike most traditional restaurants with open floor plans, this one is set in a remodeled 1950s home, with each room offering its own cozy style. The menu is top-notch, the servers are exceptional, and the food is simply to die for. I highly recommend it. For the quality of food, it's still affordable and perfect for special occasions.
If you want a great Italian restaurant, this is the one!!! Great tasting food, great atmosphere in the old home turned restaurant and the hostess/ server care. Highly recommended if you want a NICE restaurant in Cookeville. Oh, and the drinks are made perfectly! Parking: You will have to park on the street to get to the entrance easier, but plenty of options
We spent our anniversary here. It was a wonderful dinner. The wait staff was wonderful and everything was wonderful. The food the service the atmosphere everything.
My wife and I have dined at Mauricio's several times over the 15 years we've lived in Cookeville. The food is excellent, and the service has always been great. While it's not the best Italian restaurant I've been to, my wife loves it. We typically spend no less than $100 per meal, and on one occasion, we spent over $200. Usually, it's just the two of us, but we've also taken our children on special occasions. However, I recently encountered a policy at Mauricio's that has changed our opinion. We were informed that there is a time limit for reservations, regardless of the size of the party or the amount spent. Whether a party orders a simple salad and water or a full meal with drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts, and after-dinner drinks, they should not be given a limited amount of time to dine. Having dined at restaurants all over the United States and in other countries, I've never been told I only have a certain amount of time to eat. For this reason, we will no longer be dining at Mauricio's.
Our waitress and hostess were wonderful. My food was good but I wasn't overly impressed. I realize that the music was supposed to help with the mood but Frank Sinatra is not someone I care to listen to, just me.
