Char Steakhouse Bar - Cookeville

I highly recommend this steakhouse. The prime rib is fantastic, and you must try the stuffed Louisiana Chicken! The in-house crab cakes are also delicious.

The staff at this restaurant on a Friday night was very attentive. My prime rib was cooked perfectly and had a delicious seasoning.

I stopped by this restaurant for lunch during my first visit. Hannah welcomed us and served as our waitress; she was a very friendly girl. My husband ordered the pork loin lunch special and thought it was very good. I decided to try the Mac and cheese, which was okay but came out lukewarm. However, the potatoes were delicious. I am looking forward to returning for dinner.

I went to dinner with a couple of friends at Char and had a wonderful time. One friend ordered the fried mushrooms for an appetizer, and I tried one; they were good. I ordered the Cheese Roulette, an assortment of fried cheese sticks. The cheese curds had a little bit of heat, but not too much, the mozzarella sticks were classic, and the provolone were good too. One friend got the beef filet and loaded baked potato. I had one bite of the filet and it was AMAZING! My other friend ordered the shrimp scampi. She said it was really good as well. Our waiter was fabulous from beginning to end. He was super attentive without being overbearing. He kept the drinks coming, gave us menu suggestions and was just all-around a super waiter! It was a great experience, and I'll definitely be back!

Passing through town on a road trip with my daughter, stopped here for dinner on a locals recommendation. Glad we did! Excellent mahi mahi and shrimp skewers. Daughter said the chicken tenders were “spot on”. Great service, great atmosphere, great food. Will stop in again next time we’re in town.
