Unfortunately it seems that they are not there during...the off-season and their sons run the place. We were almost the only guests there at the time but they did not care about us much. The classic lounge-style common area restaurant with cushions and low tables was really dirty, from the cushions (breathing out dirt if you slap them) to the cat feces under some tables. It is also shut at 11pm even for hostel guests. Our toilet did not properly work either and all three times that we told them we were told they would see to it, but no one ever did. Laundry is advertised as bring it in the morning before 8 and it will be done by evening , but my laundry was still in the exact same place at the reception two full days after I had put it there and only got done after I reminded them several times. Would not recommend, there are a lot of other places around that are only 3 minutes further from the climbing area and much nicer.
Her wood-fired pizza and chicken biryani are ingenious and other foods were ingenious. You will find many varieties in the menu and their service is also good
I had dinner at this Indian restaurant, which was my first meal in two weeks since arriving in India (aside from a hidden café in the same area of Hampi). Perhaps Western food would have been a better choice. We only went there because everyone recommended it. However, I would advise against it. Other places cater to a more diverse crowd, play relaxing music, and serve better food (try the pizza and muesli at Gouthamis!). At this restaurant, only a group of Westerners were sitting on plastic chairs.
Wide choice of dishes of inde or elsewhere cooked on demand throughout the day. Heartburn on the butter chicken! Also a good place to rest his stomach irritated by spices with toasts, omelettes, pancakes and other wonders. on the terrace or in the interior. relax atmosphere guaranteed!
Let me start off by saying the place is a f'in rutt and so are the people running it. We had booked the rooms just 2 weeks before for Rs.600 per room, but we were made to pay Rs1000 per room(almost double,) the reason given by the owner: "We forgot that it was season and hence shortage of staff to accomodate everyone. Please continue the conversation if you can pay the hiked prices or you can go ahead and look for a different stay".This is what we had come to after so much of planning and driving around, and the horror that was still to be undone. After the moot discussion we enterd our rooms only to realize the bathroom/toilet was inside the living room and "it din't have a f'in door"!. There's a lot of biase on how you're treated, depending on whether the hostsknow you personally. So if you're planning to visit Hampi for the first time, this is certainly not the place to be. There are several good cafes in the vicinity of 500m which are much easier to reach, have better ambience and where you'll be treated with some respect( Uma Shanti Cafe, Evergreen cafe etc).So choose your place wisely.
