The menu has all the typical backpacker multi cuisine, though it seems to have more western choices than other places. Its veg/non veg, and beer is available. I ate there three times, had an Indian chicken dish that was quite tasty, a salami (made with chicken) sandwich that was O.K and a bacon/cheese sandwich with very undercooked bacon. Not good. I did not try their pizza but it looked good. There is a bakery with good cookies, and western style coffee choices. Getting a menu and placing your order can be slow, but once ordered food is fairly prompt. Pleasant atmosphere and reasonable prices similiar to other Hampi restaurants. If I had time I would definitely go back and try other dishes.
The servings and the service, both are impeccable and will surely lure your taste buds. The best among all the restaurants tried out during my trip in Hampi. Also had stayed overnight at this place, the rooms are decent but the restaurant is noteworthy. They have 2 Labradors who just give you a friendly welcome and a peaceful ambiance.
Best spinach omelette ever! Still cannot figure out how they maintained the very little crunchiness of the spinach while it was well mixed in the egg. We also enjoyed their hot beverages, baked goods and soups. The staff members were also very professional and kind. The only reason we are giving a 4 star rating is for their toilets out of a nightmare. The only decent hole in the ground I could bear to use was with a door of a giant hole on it, which meant that my entire activity could be seen by anyone passing by. Hope they would fix them after this review.
The food selection is impressive but quite pricey, portions aren't very large either. We had only a salad and some pizza toast, they were decent. Can't tell about the fancier things on the menu, we were on a budget. Returned for tea and cake, the cake (walnut) was nicely prepared, rich and filling. The lemongrass tea was amazing, made from fresh lemongrass, the best I have ever had (and I am normally not a fan,) very refreshing, no sugar added. Their masala chai was negligible, I recommend sticking to the fruit tea and herbal tea options.
Nice bakes they had a wonderful tangy lemon tea. Ofcourse among other things out was nice to sit on the relaxed chairs and enjoy the fresh air of Hampi. This place is on the corner of the other side of the river. It's got a nice sitting area and a nice vibe. There were a few people outside asking for alms/begging and I didn't know how to respond so that was a little awkward. One of then had a kid who was rather sick or so it sounded. And she just kept standing there staring at us while we ate. Left a but of a bitter taste but I didn't know what to do. A lot many tourists come to this part of the country so it's funny how people should resort to these things. Anyhow, German bakery was a nice space, I'd just suggest not to sit too close to the exits if such things bother you too.
