Our usual place for eating gluten-free pizzas, El Horno, Is closed on Mondays. After scouring TA for options, I called this place up and sure enough, they were open on Mondays and had gluten-free pizzas to boot. My wife’s craving for pizza was satisfied. In all fairness, the gluten-free pizzas are a bit thicker than the regulars and closer to the pan pizza variety, about 1 cm thick with a bread-like texture. However, this place makes it up by far by using fantastic toppings and a really tasty tomato sauce. As for the regular pizzas, they are simply outstanding. Superthin, excellent balance between crispy crusts and delicious dough, baked to perfection. Very friendly service as well.
We had noticed this quite nice looking restaurant was very quiet with a forlorn waiter standing outside for several days. I guess we were curious and went in on a Saturday night. Sure enough, the decor was Italian but there was nobody else in and the reception was very un- Italian. We had bruschetta which was OK but the two pastas were poor. A greasy meat lasagne and ravioli swimming in draining water. Was it a bad night? Had it been a long season?
