The White Horse Inn - Compton Bassett

Very nice pub in a lovely area. Locals friendly gave us directions to the white hours on the hill. Food generally very nice however had a hair on one sweet which would have been ok mistakes happen but was not handled very well. Apart from that a very nice place.

We came here after a few difficult years because of covid and few external factors as much overdue date night. we couldn't have been happier with the staff until the food came out. I can't blame anyone tonight and we ran away very happy in a few weeks and look forward to the next visit to Mother's Day. I would recommend this place to everyone. if they want to pay for a standard meal, they go to a box pub if they want something special, they come here.

A really nice cosy pub with great food and comfortable rooms. We came here for a birthday meal and wasn't disappointed by the food, really great tasting dishes and we'll presented. The service was friendly and efficient, a good selection of drinks on tap, but no cocktail menu. Reasonable prices on the drinks. The atmosphere was pleasant, a bit on the quiet side, didn't seem much of a buzz but that might have been where we'd sat. We also stayed over, the rooms were clean and comfortable with the usual complimentary tea/coffee etc. Bed was on the firm side, but I didn't mind that. Overall a really lovely place to eat, drink and stay, I'd say it was on par with the price we paid,

I had lunch with my daughter and sister on Sunday afternoon, and it was a wonderful experience! The service was excellent, and we ordered the medium rare brat beef, which was juicy and delicious. Each of us tried different dishes, and they were all fabulous in their own way. The atmosphere was nice, with a good balance between dining in the bar area and in other rooms. We will definitely be returning!

Excellent pub! I booked a table for four over the phone with Chris for Sunday at noon. One of our diners needed a gluten-free option, which we appreciated. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and directed to our table. A staff member promptly came over to take our orders and offer drinks. The service was outstanding, and the food was equally impressive. I noticed that there was water available on the table and it was refilled during our meal. The napkins were fabric instead of paper, which is a nice touch that suggests a higher quality venue. We will definitely return as often as we can; we're already looking forward to the summer!
