La Ghironda - COMO

Staying in a lovely B&B just outside the city center, and after a long and tiring day of driving, I just wanted to have a good meal within walking distance. So they pointed me to this place. It was so good I returned the day after. The first day I ate à la carte. The next day I followed the example of most customers and went for the fixed menu. Unbelievable: exquisite starter, lovely pasta as a primo piatto, delicately cooked meat as a secondo piatto, and a very refined desert to finish it all. Water and coffee included. Very refined presentation. Price/quality unbeatable. On a scale of 1 to 10 they get a 12!

After reading the good reviews we decided to try it out and I´ve got to say, it was a really pleasant experience. With the cheap and good menu del giorno consisting of a choice of three Starters and three secondsfor €10 encluding coffee and water you can get full easily, and with a cheap dessert €2-3) you can round it off nicely. A Little Problem was that the menu was only in italian, but our basic knowledge and the friendly staff helpfully took care of that problem.

Up the road to Monte Olimpino you would hardly pay attention to a couple of windows named La Ghironda, but once you test it you will surely come back... I discovered this restaurant couple of years ago and It suddenly became the place to spoil myself and bring friend with me. A relaxed environment, old unpretentious interiors and a smiling woman always there to welcome you. Food is great, a balanced mix of traditional recipes and the chef's oestrus. If you want a suggest: keep a small space for the dessert, they are simply AMAZING! One day I will probably have dinner just tasting all of them. Definitely the right place for a relaxing dinner.

Place a little incense with the sign, but when you enter it is cozy, warm and with a menu from great chef. dishes with local products, cured and refined.

Simple place, spartan, very good foods of tradition, fast service and courtesy.
