I have never ever come place during the day and therefore will not be able to tell you if it is open during the day.'Hadache Maas' a Goan pork delicacy is prepared here. The portion size is small. This place is known for beef chilly fry, pork chilly fry. You can eat it with poi a sweetish fermented Goan bread.
For years we have been going to Durigos, and their crab masala has been ever so mouth watering. Aad maas, is another rare specialty. Chonak, modso or rockfish in green rawa fry are equally delicious. Down this with a cool thumsup.
The restaurant has authentic Goan food and excellent pancakes and brownies for dessert. The restaurant has a nice ambience but no AC so you need to time your visit right.
I have visited south goa for years and had never heard of this family, the “AUTHENTIC” goan restaurant; “Durigo” operated. [in the local language, “Durigo” loosely translates a “hang”. for those who love authentic goan kitchen – that is a must go. The...décor is minimalist, but at home with a beautiful garden front. the menu amazing and eating amazing! prices are reasonable, but not cheap. now the main part of the diversity and quality of food. the kalamari masala fry fried squid as starter was mouthwater – with the unique goan ‘Rechad’ masala. this was the accompaniment of the local drink “urrak”. urrak is the less well-known but far more exclusive and superior cousin of the well-known “feni”. it is believed that the drink that gave the name “Arrack” of the world. I have never visited a restaurant with “urrak” before – although it is locally widely consumed and available. the slightly alcoholic “urrack” along fried fish and Calamari-Squid was exquisite. the main course consisted of fish curry chonok fish and the “piece of resistance” – pork aadmaas described in the English menu as pork bones? this traditional dish – consists of juicy cooked pork on bones. the gravure, although infused with chilis is not “hot”, but tangie, as it has a wonderful masala with vinegar base. both the fish curry as well as pork aadmas that have a thick engraving were polished with freshly baked goan brot poi or pav, as it is more commonly called. the interesting thing about goan bread is that this traditional form of goan poi has become almost “extinct” in most rest in goa. there was much more on the menu that it was worth trying – but we were too full to have more in this visit. but I promised myself: “I will be back” for everyone who appreciates real Goan cuisine – durigo at colva beach on the main street – is one.
We visited this restaurant for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. A must-visit for goat lovers. The place was clean and hygienic, with a cozy kitchen and spotless toilets. It was clear that many locals frequent this establishment for their meals.
