I dropped off a cake downtown for my son and on the way back home, we decided to stop at Middle West Spirits because I don't like baking and needed a reward. It was our first time there and we were happy to see they have a large private parking lot, so no need to worry about your car getting damaged. You enter through their store, which is well-designed and full of merchandise. Beyond the store is a cozy dining room with a bar area and plenty of seating. They offer reasonably priced food, but dinner service starts at 5 PM (reservations recommended) and we arrived at 4:15 PM. They lost a star from us for not having appetizers available earlier. We decided to have rye whiskeys on the rocks, served with a unique single square ice cube that I found interesting. The bartender made a delicious bourbon sour that I'll definitely order next time. I can't wait to come back!

The tour was informative and gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the distillery. The tasting included bourbon, vodka, stone fruit vodka, and gin. I would have preferred more bourbon or rye instead of two vodkas or gin, but I understand catering to a wider audience. We had made a reservation and were seated in a great booth. We were the only ones in the restaurant at 6:15 on a Friday, which was a bit odd, but it quickly filled up. The service was excellent, and our server was very friendly. We tried a variety of dishes, including a chicken sandwich, burger, Pappardelle, duck fat fries, Caesar salad, a cask flight, and an old fashioned cocktail. Everything was delicious, although the Pappardelle dish was on the smaller side. The fries and bourbon were particularly outstanding. The restaurant had a great selection of their own spirits at the bar, which I appreciated. The bartender even went to the bottle shop to get a bottle to open for us, which was impressive. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely return. I do wish the menu was a bit larger, as the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place.

The manager at Middle West Spirits was really great and allowed us a tasting before they opened. Wonderful spirits as we tasted 3 of their select line of their liquid gold whiskeys. Sorry but I can't remember their names but they were most enjoyable. Hey, make reservations for dinner! The staff was a lot of fun . Thanks to the staff for a marvelous experience.
