The Original Brunches - Columbia

The food and service were great, and we felt very welcomed in the bustling atmosphere. However, the decor could use some updates and improvements. As for parking, while it was limited, it seemed adequate for the number of customers present.

The gravy is excellent—truly outstanding! The country fried steak is tender and juicy, and the broccoli casserole is fantastic. The fried okra is light and crispy. The staff is very friendly, and I definitely plan to return to explore more of the menu. Food: 5/5.

I discovered this restaurant through a Google search for the best breakfast in Columbia, SC, and it certainly lived up to the hype. It has the cozy vibe of a neighborhood diner, complete with friendly service. I ordered the breakfast combo, which included two eggs (cooked to my liking), a choice of biscuit or toast, along with grits or hash browns and catfish. Everything was perfectly seasoned—flavorful without being overly salty—and cooked fresh to order. The prices are better than IHOP's. I highly recommend this place, and I’ll definitely return when I’m back in town.
