Zaika - Colorado Springs

We visited this restaurant late in the evening, and it was definitely worth it! The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. For our first dish, we had lamb, and I believe I had chicken, although I can't quite recall the details from March 15, 2019. However, my memories of the place and the food are all positive—I was very happy and satisfied! The only minor complaint I had was that the dishes were a bit heavy on butter or oil, but it was a small issue overall.

Rating: 4.5 stars. After being let down by a few other Indian restaurants in southern Colorado, I was pleasantly surprised by this place because their food is genuinely excellent! The atmosphere is bright and uplifting. When you sit at the booths, the menu is displayed on the wall. They informed us of a price increase that had just occurred an hour before we arrived. Really? Who raises prices on a random busy afternoon? Nonetheless, we ordered the Kerala Curry with chicken, the lamb biryani, and two garlic naans. I also got a Masala Chai. The chai was very good, but it could have used a little less sugar. The garlic naans were incredibly delicious and fluffy; we couldn't stop eating them. The Kerala Curry was lovely, although I would have liked more pieces of chicken. They made it a level 4 spice as we requested, but next time I’ll push for a level 5 because it wasn’t spicy enough for me. The lamb biryani was not as extravagant as the server initially suggested; it felt more like lamb pulao. It was very tasty, just not quite biryani. Overall, it was a good portion. My friend and I ate our fill and still had enough left for another meal. The prices were reasonable, aside from the recent hike. I will definitely be returning in the future!

We visit this area every few years to enjoy the beautiful countryside, and I plan to return to this restaurant whenever I get the chance. I highly recommend the Veggie Samosa appetizer—they're filled with a delicious mixture of potatoes, peas, and spices, all wrapped in crispy, golden-brown dough. They also serve a refreshing mint chutney and a tangy tamarind sauce for dipping. The flavors and textures are wonderfully unique; I can't recommend them enough—10/10! Beyond the outstanding food, the service was exceptional. Our server, Sami, was incredibly funny and had us laughing so much that I nearly snorted my mojito. We had plenty of questions about the menu, and she provided all the right answers, from suggestions to ingredient lists. Sami is truly a delightful person. Thank you, Sami!

Such a great experience. My wife and I spent our anniversary here and really enjoyed it. The service was fantastic and very patient as we had many questions. Vegetable sauces were amazing and the sauce was perfect. Absolutely loved the Tandoori chicken. We'll be absolutely back.

Food was fresh and enjoyable. There is an option to choose your spice level (1-5) for most of the dishes. I recommend the Saag Chicken. Good place for some tasty Indian food.
