Contribuiți la feedbackAs newcomers to the area, we received a recommendation from our realtor to try this place for pizza, and it did not disappoint. The pizza was absolutely fantastic! This will definitely be our go-to spot from now on.
After a long day of travel, we decided to grab a bite at this restaurant. Zach was our waiter, and he was absolutely fantastic—extremely friendly! We never had to wait for our drinks to be refilled. The food was incredible! Despite the restaurant being busy, all the staff were working diligently.
Alright, so "Heat of the Moment" by Asia just started playing, and then this pizza arrived. I'm not quite sure why I decided to go for deep dish since I usually don't. We ordered "The Big Frizz" (with no olives), and honestly, it tastes like something straight out of Chicago, which I've never been to but would imagine it would be like this if I did. It was steaming hot, the cheese was wonderfully stringy just the way I like it, and it was deep just as I requested. The toppings were mouthwatering, and the homemade ranch was a perfect touch. Seriously, what more could you want in the heat of the moment?
An impromptu dinner date was on the cards and my wife decided to surprise me as she thought of a place before I could for dinner. We then made the drive and arrived at Walter?s. On a busy Thursday night, we were able to snag two seats at the barcounter. If we didn?t, it would have been a 45-60 minute wait. We arrived around 7:00 PM, so keep that in mind when youvisit! There was only one bartender, but he was on top of everything. Very attentive and great customer service. Therestaurant itself is very cozy and has a great ?home? vibe. Definitely a place where you can bring your family or friends. Justmake sure to plan ahead! We decided to order cheesy breadsticks and a 14 in. pizza that we split 50/50. Her side was justcheese and pepperoni while mine contained bbq chicken and ricotta. Starting off we did receive all items in a timely fashionwith no errors. Fantastic start to see especially with how busy they were. The cheesy breadsticks came first and theydelivered! This wasn?t just cheese on bread. This was cheesy bread that had a great proportion of cheese to bread whiledelivering on flavor. They had a great garlic taste without being overpowering for my wife. The bread itself was top-tier. Verygood base and each bite held up (no soggy bread here)! The marinara sauce on the side is definitely not store-bought. Themarinara contained a great mixture of tomato and spices that complimented the cheesy breadsticks wonderfully. One of the bestcheesy bread items we have had in Colorado Springs. The pizza came in shortly after and did deliver great flavor. My wifethought the pepperoni pizza was pretty good but a little spicy. Not a bad thing by any means, because she usually likeseverything mild. The pepperoni along with the other toppings though was plentiful. My side contained a generous heaping of bbqchicken and ricotta. The bbq chicken was very good and complimented the house marinara and mozzarella cheese well. Not too saltyeither which is a hard
The place was a nice local eatery with a sport bar and trendy bar feel. It was extremely clean and well maintained. Although it wasn 't packed when we arrived (right at opening), I can see this place being extremely packed at night due to its small size. The bathroom was clean, but only one toilet per, and there were two of them. Overall, we loved the atmosphere. Regarding theirfood: We were told the deep dish pizza would take a bit longer when ordering, so we were prepared for a treat. Chicago deep dishis just that, deep, but this one missed the mark. I posted a photo of my fork next to it, so you can see its not that deep. itdid taste OK, but the sauce was meh to us. We ordered the large pizza, and not knowing the sizes, assumed it would be large. Itwas the size of a medium pizza from chain pizza places. I 'd give the pizza a 3 out of 5. It was bad, but we wouldn 't make aspecial trip to eat here. Regarding the meatball sub my wife ordered, here again, meh. The meatballs were a bit spicy, which isfine, but it wasnt for us. The salad, according to her, was as good as they usually come. We ordered the garlic bread. Therewere dry and crusty (not quite hard as a rock, but certainly dry). 4 pieces for 5 bucks.... Ahem... Waste of money. It did comewith marinara, which you had to pour on your plate. Speaking of plates, I love the black square plates. I 'm not sure why, butthey were plenty big and seemed like they 'd keep the messes down. The water cups were large, which we liked. Especially sincethe waiter didn 't come around much. I did have the pleasure of waiting 10 to 15 minutes at the end of our meal for the bill. Thewaiter was browsing his phone behind the bar. Anyhow, we would eat here again, but wouldn 't make a special trip for it. Only ifwe were really hungry and in the immediate neighborhood. I 'd pass on it if you have a minute more to drive somewhere else. 5stars for atmosphere, 2 stars for the pizza being deep dish, but wasn 't, and an average
