Captain D's - Colorado Springs

The sea food was as good as any higher end restaurant, if you're looking for Fish Chips.I had the shrimp and fish with fries and coleslaw. I thought the coleslaw was better than most fast food places.The drive through was fast and efficient!Thank you Captain D's. I'll be back.

I never go in. Just order in the drive thru. Last 10 times, I've ordered blackened white fish, baked potato, mac and cheese, side of hush puppies, large drink, and sometimes their funnel cake stick dessert. A couple of times, I've had a great suggestive seller asking if I'd like to try this or that, which is what led me to try the funnel cake sticks, I like them. In my opinion, the food portions are good for the price, I've not had a bad meal yet. Wait time from order to get your food us usually about 5 min. The times I've gone, it's never been really busy, usually around 3.30 pm on a weekday or 1 pm on a weekend. Plenty of parking.

This was my first time visiting and I must say I was impressed I walked in to a very well kept establishment and was immediately surprised to see GUMBO ! Which is something I rarely ever see outside of the south.Aside from that I was uninformed of the rest of the offerings on the menu but a employee named Aidan led me and my husband through the entire menu and was extremely pleasant overall.The food was fresh and was portioned well. The food is normally cooked fresh, so that is a plus, but that also means you'll be waiting approx. 5-6 minutes. They have expanded their menu a bit and have brought back an all-time favorite of mine, which is lobster bisque.Food: 4/5

The staff was polite and the service was quick. The restaurant appeared clean from what I could see. It's conveniently located right off Powers and Barnes. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The food was quite bland; I ordered breaded fish, fries, and mac-and-cheese. Remarkably, the mac-and-cheese was the highlight of the meal. The fish was excessively breaded—I'm not opposed to a little breading, but this was far too much (as shown in the pictures). After having the heavily breaded fish, my plate was left piled high with batter. It was also odd that the fish was sitting on top of random fried batter (again, see pictures). I strongly suggest adjusting the recipe to use only about a quarter, if not less, of the breading. I was really looking forward to trying this place after seeing it open, so I left feeling quite disappointed.
