Hancho's Hibachi Box - Colonial Beach

Hancho's Hibachi Box took over what once was the soft serve serving Polar Den. Their menu offers various appetizers (gyozas, egg rolls, fried pickles, etc. , their hibachi protein options (veggie, chicken, steak, shrimp, salmon, or scallops , sushi (maki rolls , and various sides (fried rice, salads, yum yum sauce, etc. . We decided to order a couple of hibachis to go: +a choice of 2 of steak and shrimp +a choice of 2 of double steak You can choose between white or fried rice, which we opted for the latter; the boxes come with yum yum sauce, too. The hibachi is made to order, so you do receive them fresh the meal was simple, tasty, and a great bargain with the portions you receive, too! I am curious about their fried appetizers, such as the pickles, bananas, and the Oreos, so maybe on the next visit! There isn't a drive thru, so you just park and walk up to place an order at the window. Some place their orders in advance over the phone. There are some patio seating available, and plenty of parking in their lot. Food is great, tender chicken, fresh veggies and the rice is cooked well too. I've only had the Chicken entree' but I have never been disappointed. I'm only giving it a four star because it takes a long time between when you order and when the food is ready. They have two locations, a food truck in Oak Grove, Virginia, next to the Shell Station, and a drive thru type place on 301 in Dahlgren, Va.

The HanCho Hibachi Box I stopped at was on the northbound side of 301 in Dahlgren. I ordered the salmon entree which included fried rice, mixed vegetables, yum yum and ginger sauce. My meal was delicious. There was easily enough food for two people or two meals. I crushed it. It was that good. They make sushi and have cone ice cream as well. I would definitely recommend this eatery.

The food was great with good portion! I ordered the steak and shrimp and the California roll! Filling and tasty! I'll be back!
