We have even visited only a section of a few hundred meters up and down from the Catholic parish church of Saint Nicholas. We went by train to Arnulfstraße. In the afternoon was the right time to savour an ice cream. The Keiserlich Deutsche Eismanufaktur caught our eye. And the homepage already promises “speakable” taste: “Best ingredients from controlled agriculture, freshly selected from the region with love and care and processed. Traditional craftsmanship that enthuses the young and the young and does not include artificial additives. This creates the best ice cream for imperial pleasure. Our secret is the result of the extraordinary compositions of handed over recipes of traditional ice makers and especially fresh milk and fruit. Homemade and natural!” Ambiente However, the shop did not seem particularly welcoming to us. We went past and looked at other shops. But then curiosity prevailed. The bar is absolutely central. In the remaining store are some high tables and a few pillows on the low window benches. So you can stay, but it is not necessarily the aim of the business to pamper customers with ice cups. There are only cardboard cups or horns. So now we were at the counter and wanted to try. Service The young saleswoman therefore pointed to the table and let us choose. She was friendly and also gave information. However, we didn't want to screw up on the high chairs or sit on the window bench. We had paid immediately to the counter and then passed and went back to the street. There we tried our balls in walking and standing. The tasting food We chose two portions with three balls in a cardboard cup with the flavors: mango, strawberry, vanilla and Stracciatella. Each bullet cost 1.50 euros. A spoon was also there (maybe it cost a little extra; we should pay 10 euros. Vanilla and Stracciatella we actually found exceptionally tasty. The vanilla ice was not coloured, but almost white; it also contained many grains of vanilla. In Stracciatella a dark, strong chocolate was used. The fruity varieties were also well made, but not so intense in taste. Perhaps we are more used to additives and therefore found the natural aromas without amplifiers too “soft”. Price performance ratio In Bergisch Gladbach the balls are larger and cost “only” € 1.30; but the ingredients just justify the higher price. Conclusion 3 – if it results. The ice cream has something and there are several varieties to taste. And the chances are good: After all, the company already has five shops in the city and so the situation can actually arise outside of Sülz. Maybe the locals are even more cozy, who knows? (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it results again, 4 – happy again, 5 – absolutely again – after “Kuechenreise” Date of visit: 09.06.2022 – after the afternoon – 2 people My enjoyable experiences are also at [here link] Total – Service – Cleanliness – Essen – Ambiente P L V 3.5 3 4 2 3.5
