Contribuiți la feedbackThis place is to be known for Eggs Benedict. It was by far the worst thing I ever had. The English muffins were not even roasted, the eggs were cooked hard. Zero liquid yoke. The sauce was sealed over everything. I had grilled tomatoes on the side... I have three slices of cold tomatoes. The service was good and the rest of the meals seemed ok. That's the point.
Selected special lunch menu Cajan fish should cod. But many batteries had difficulty finding the fish. When returning to resort staff, we advised that this was one of the worst restaurants in Collingwood. Waitress for very kind.
In our humble opinion The Iron Skillet in Collingwood is 1. As a preamble, my husband and I survived very severe cases of COVID resulting in his hospitalization in mid August. Also as we are Seniors-seniors, we decided that we would be eating out...more often on this vacation. Based on the reviews on Trip Advisor my husband and I decided that we must visit The Iron Skillet which we did on a Monday. My husband has not stopped raving about the Liver and Onions which he says was the best that he has ever eaten! Cut to perfection, it was so tender, so tasty. I choose the Seafood Crêpe. The flavour was beyond my expectations! On Wednesday we had the Wiener Schnitzel with the cheese, mushroom and onion topping served on freshly mashed potatoes, and a medley of fresh vegetables…also so tasty. For dessert we split a piece of New York cheesecake with Real Whip Cream and drizzled with chocolate, so Yummy! Tonight we chose Caesar Salad with a freshly prepared with a house dressing which included bacon, parmesan cheese, garlic etc…so good! Our main meal was the sliced Chicken in a Alfredo sauce on the best noodles! It was another great choice. In summary we cannot rave enough about our experiences. The food size is very generous! As one waitress told us “ if you leave here hungry we haven’t done our job”. We were very impressed with the servers that we had for each meal. They work well together and assist each other at each table whether it’s their assignment or not. As my husband uses a walker or cane, we are thankful to the staff who graciously assisted my him in getting up and down from his seat. We have booked a table for tomorrow night! As we are so impressed with the Iron Skillet in Collingwood. there is no need to go anywhere else for a great casual dining experience.
Lots of choices on the menu, and had the Octoberfest specials. Food good, our table had a variety of dishes, service a bit slow. Everyone cleaned off their plates.
Even though they close at 9 p.m., they graciously welcomed us at 8:30 p.m. The Seafood Schnitzel was superb, although the portion size was much larger than expected for seniors like us. The menu offers a variety of options for everyone. Despite the generous portion sizes, the prices are reasonable and affordable. The service was outstanding, with the server being attentive yet not intrusive. I highly recommend checking out The Iron Skillet.
