Hung up on me twice and talked to me like I was bothering her when I asked can I make a order horrible customer service I guess this is a African restaurant theme because they all talk to their customers like your trash ????
Great food. Great service. Neighborhood place. Very filling. Loved fish and beef. We brought our own and sat in backroom.
The sauce for the Acheke was not good it was waterish… the fish is goodThe fried okra was good…
A co-worker recommended this place so I recently stopped in with a friend to check them out! Just to start Musu's Spot is a West African restaurant run by wonderful people. I believe they hail from Liberia. You can park along MacDade Blvd., but there appeared to be a couple of parking spots next to the building. Upon walking in we were immediately welcomed by Musu and told what was on the menu for the day. She recommended to get the cassava leaf mixed with beef, chicken, turkey and fish. My friend ordered the peanut butter soup and fufu. Cassava leaf is basically a stew made of mixed meats and served with rice. I didn't ask, but I'm pretty sure palm oil is used and there were chili peppers added to give it spice. I can't say too much for my friends dish, but he did say it was spicy and he could taste the peanut butter along with the meat added. The fufu looked like a pizza dough ball. I'm not sure if it was made of yam, but he said it was sticky and very filling. As for my Cassava leaf I found it to be delicious and just the right portion size. Beware of the bones cooked in with the meat, but overall the meat was fresh and the flavors were very balanced. The inside of the first room you go into has some booth seating, but was a little hot, so we were sent into a back dining area that had the AC kicking! There was a TV with some African dance music on and the tables/seating areas were clean. The wait for our food was not long and we were served by Musu herself. She came to check on us multiple times. I was really happy with my first West African food experience. I felt like I had stopped in to visit a friends house and their mother was cooking for us. When we were leaving, everyone working there wanted to know how everything was and how we liked it. Extremely friendly folks at Musu's spot. I will definitely return to try some other menu items.
