Walk On's Sports Bistreaux Gonzales

I rated this restaurant 4 stars primarily because I've been there several times and have noticed that the quality of food can decline when they’re especially busy. However, on all my other visits, I’ve been very pleased with the quality and consistency of the food, as well as the ease of swapping sides. The staff is friendly, and the restaurant is well-maintained. Additionally, I believe this is the only place in Bryan/College Station that serves alligator!

The duck and andouille sausage gumbo is outstanding—it’s well-balanced, with just the right amount of spice and a rich roux that perfectly complements the duck and sausage. The boom boom shrimp is delightful, offering a good kick without being overloaded with sauce, and there are at least a dozen medium-sized shrimp in the bowl. The atmosphere is great as well, with plenty of TVs displaying different games and sports shows for entertainment.

This establishment is mainly a sports bar with a Cajun-inspired menu. The bar area is spacious and offers a wide variety of beers on tap. While the food is satisfying, it doesn't really stand out as exceptional. I tried the fried shrimp, which I enjoyed, and the Crawfish Two Ways, which includes fried crawfish tails and crawfish étouffée. The fried tails were tasty, but the étouffée was lacking in flavor. The cocktail sauce had an unusual taste, with a hint of sweetness that reminded me of cherries. It's a good spot for drinks and a quick bite if you're hungry, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're specifically looking for outstanding Cajun cuisine.

I had an excellent time at this restaurant! The pasta and shrimp were delicious, and the margaritas were outstanding. The decor provided a lovely atmosphere, and the overall vibe was fantastic. The manager was very welcoming, and the host was also great. While our waitress was somewhat aloof, we still had a really enjoyable experience.

My daughter and I dined at Walk-Ons today to show our support for the A&M Volleyball Team, and we want to express our gratitude for hosting this event! I truly appreciate the family-friendly atmosphere at Walk-Ons; it's our go-to place for watching sports. Events like this make it even more enjoyable! Additionally, the food is excellent, and the company is delightful! Thank you!
