Outrigger Grill - Colfax

After I placed my order, the sandwich and tea arrived first, but it took about 20 minutes for the redneck nachos to come out. In total, I waited about 45 minutes for our lunch, while people who ordered after me received their food and fries well before I got my nachos. This dish, which consisted of fries topped with beer cheese, pulled pork, BBQ sauce, and sour cream, should not have taken 45 minutes to prepare. I could have easily made it from scratch at home in half the time!

This establishment should shut down. The prices are excessively high, and no one is wearing masks. When I approached the counter to place my order while wearing a mask, the employee pretended to cough and told me that masks weren't necessary. They should really be closed!

The prices were outrageously high, which is what you would expect for a restaurant by the lake. They didn’t provide the right cutlery for the food they served, and the beer cheese in the redneck nachos was overwhelmingly strong, making everyone feel unwell. It was incredibly disappointing to spend $60 on a meal for two adults and one child, only to end up throwing it away and feeling sick. The only redeemable item was the grilled cheese sandwich. We had a large group, and I’ve never seen so many people express their frustration over a meal before. What a letdown!

Desiree has taken over the Outrigger and is restoring it to its former glory—only better. The food was outstanding for two consecutive days. You can really sense the passion the team puts into their dishes!

When the tri-tip finally arrived, it was dry and tough to chew, completely untrimmed with mostly fatty parts. The sandwich had ingredients not mentioned on the menu, and to mask the dry, fatty meat, it was soaked in BBQ sauce, which overwhelmed everything else—grilled onions, meat, cheese, and other condiments became virtually indistinguishable. I’d recommend bringing your own food to the lake instead; even a simple processed ham and cheese sandwich on white bread would leave you feeling more satisfied and less nauseous.
