The Waubic - Coldwater

Had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant for the second time. Very nice boat ride from Sparrow Lake . Do not be surprised that you will have to wait for a seat,but it will be worth it. Staff is wonderful and the fish and chips are hot and fresh . I would highly recommend it . I also really appreciated that the small children where served first a real bonus.

A great experience all around. The food, atmosphere, weather, water...a great place to eat and stay. We'll be back soon!

The Waubic is a gem on the Severn River. Two locks up from Georgian Bay, it sits a short distance from Big Chute. We were impressed by the docks, outdoor seating, and general upkeep of the restaurant. Had the fish and chips and enjoyed a cold beer. What a pleasant way to spend an afternoon! The service is warm and welcoming and a journey inside the restaurant yields a bit of local history. The preserved canoes in particular are impressive. Thank you for such a relaxed afternoon.

Ask anyone who has been to The Waubic this is the best restaurant on the Trent Severn Waterway if not all of Ontario. Excellent food - friendly service - cold beer. This is just a small place so when it is busy it is BUSY. So if you are in a hurry you may want to pass on by until you have time to enjoy the experience. Overnight dockage is reasonably priced and the breakfast is as least as good as the rest of the menu. Please Note, if you have not been to the Waubic you need to know this is not a Marina - no dockhands - no ice delivery - no morning paper.

A Gem on the wate, the must stop place on the Trent water ways if your travelling by boat or take the water taxi over, and enjoy the warmth and hospitality these folks offer. Nothing like homemade meals and breads, the fish and chips is a must have along with a order of river bread.
