Unfortunately, the champagne sat unopened on the bar with regular wine glasses beside it. After waiting, we had to ask for flutes and to have it opened, which seemed to surprise the staff. We also had a snack, during which the waitress accidentally spilled mayonnaise on us. We had to request a cloth to clean it up ourselves and ask for a replacement. The food came out at different times and the table was not cleared until we asked. There were no apologies, just excuses about the young staff and a wedding taking place. Our bill was close to £100 with no reduction offered. It's disappointing, as we have had great experiences at this restaurant in the past. We are now very hesitant to return or recommend it to others.
I am shocked that I am the only person reviewing the Tudor Bar and Brasserie. The food is diverse and of exceptional quality, with only a few occasional hiccups. The service is fantastic, and even the regulars greet you as you enter.
My parents and I decided to dine out at this restaurant because we were too tired to cook after a long day of commitments. As always, we were not disappointed. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The pulled brisket burger, scampi, and chicken dishes were all exceptional once again.
My parents and I popped in for a quick meal. Toni the ever efficient barman welcomed us like old friends and took our order quickly. The homemade brisket burger made with short rib beef and fries was fabulous, I've added it to my list of pork belly and the ribs as must haves. Scampi came with a huge portion of chunky chips in a somewhat daft fryer basket. Both these meals were around the £12 mark and good value. The grilled chicken breast with skinny fries and coleslaw didn't look quite so good but was eaten. Extra potion of veg wasn't great. The Tudor bar is a good non chain restaurant to get a good meal with friendly service in a historic building
Friendly service, menu has gone through a seasonal change which is always a bit concerning as favourites often get taken off. The ribs remain which is great as they are my current favourite, excellently flavoured well cooked ribs, melting off the bone with barbecue sauce on side, coleslaw and a mountain of straw fries. Burgers are good though ciabatta is a bit OTT. Shame my dad's favourite salad Nicoise has gone off menu. The building of the hotel in which the bar/restaurant sits is quite amazing which does make the serving dishes- planks of wood and miniature frying baskets seem a it odd! Excellent value for a quick bite to eat
