The Whalebone - Colchester

Last night, we enjoyed a Valentine's dinner at this restaurant. The food was fantastic, the staff was very attentive, and the overall dining experience was exceptional. The home-cooked meals were delicious. We would like to thank everyone at The Whalebone for a delightful evening.

My son (who is 15 today) enjoyed an amazing burger, my wife had perfectly cooked fish and chips, and I had a succulent lamb rump in tagine style - honestly excellent. Our hostess was also great. The menu was brilliant. Thank you Whalebone for a lovely meal.

I just had the best roast dinner ever at this restaurant. I am so full and satisfied. The potatoes were perfectly fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The fresh vegetables were vibrant and colorful. They had a selection of about 5 different meats to choose from, and since I am gluten-free, I opted for the chicken. They even made a special Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, and gravy for my dietary needs. The meal was very reasonably priced and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. I will definitely be returning the next time I have a Sunday off work. Yum!

Brilliant staff and food excellent. Took my dog and they offered water and he was more than welcomed with staff making a fuss of him. Service was superb and food great value, Highly recommend the roast! Amazing potatoes and plenty of mixed veg included.

I returned again for a family meal and everything was perfect staff and owner should be proud of such a wonderful and beautiful pubsuch amazing food too! keep up the good work
