The Flag Inn Wivenhoe - Colchester

A rather disappoint affair when they first opened the food was great but the service was shocking (took 1.5 hours to get our food . We gave them another chance because we understand fresh openings are stressful and it takes time to get everything working. This time there’s nowhere to hide I’m afraid. The burgers were bland and the service still slow (despite it being half empty on a Saturday night! . Shame, it has such potential. Service: 2

The staff were all very friendly and made us feel super welcome. The restaurant was great with delicious food and very comprehensive bar. The rooms were modern, clean and cosy, making it very comfortable and relaxing. Hope to be back soon. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

Had the most delicious Sunday roast at the flag. Highly recommended. Service was friendly and efficient. Staff worked well as a team and nothing was too much trouble. Have been here twice recently and all occasions was faultless. Well done to you all. Service: 5 Location: 5

Couldn't recommend the hotel or restaurant highly enough. Beautiful decor, clean, modern and comfortable. The staff couldn't have done any more for us, they went above and beyond. Food amazing too!
