The Deli - Colchester

My wife and I stopped by for lunch and were pleased with the nice and friendly service from both members of staff. I enjoyed the ploughman's platter, while my wife had some quiche and we both had some lovely coffees. Thank you!

I live near Manningtree and often have breakfast at Hobsons with my husband and friend on Saturdays. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Our border collie also enjoys the outing and the doggie sausage. My favorite used to be the Glamorgan veggie sausage toasted sandwich, but they have recently switched to a gourmet sausage due to a negative review. While the new sausage is tasty, I do miss the old Glamorgan sausage. Overall, Hobsons is a local gem and I always look forward to my Saturday breakfast there.

The staff at this restaurant were excellent, however, the food was disappointing. It was very greasy and the veggie sausages did not taste like sausages at all. The mash and onion were shaped like sausages and fried, which was also disappointing.

Visiting Manningtree we chance upon this cafe at lunchtime. What a great find. Friendly, happy staff and superb food. The three of us had a cheese omelette, griddled potato slices with cheese and beans, and a goats cheese salad. Absolutely delicious and very generous portions, with copious salad on the side. Superb!

Called in for a late lunch, nothing too much trouble for the staff. Excellent food and service. Will definitely be calling again.
