Excellent service from the hosts in the restaurant. Quick service and very friendly too. Food was great too and good value. Our host was, Tunay and she was ever so helpful. If we needed anything Tunay was always ready to answer any questions regarding the vegan and milk intolerance items on the menu. Thanks for a lovely afternoon

Went on a Friday night. Restaurant is clean and stylish. Bar was very busy but restaurant empty. Only our table plus two other small tables occupied during the 3 hours we were there. It should’ve been full given the time and location. Don’t know if it is price or lack of marketing, as it is a nice venue. Large group of us. Service was very attentive, noting food allergies and preferences. Various dishes ordered risotto, small plates of pork belly, hummus with pitta bread, chips and chicken satay. The ‘chipolatas’ were actually large sausages. Cocktails and wine all good. Even though all the main courses looked small, they were filling and jyst enough. Nobody felt hungry. Food was served quickly, was hot and great quality. I had 2 small plates, a large glass of wine and dessert. My bill came to just over £25. Only two gripes, hence 4 stars: (1) The empty wine glasses on the table on arrival were cloudy and dirty. However, all wine ordered came with/in fresh clean glasses, so we were not expected to use them. (2) Both their website menu state that the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream dessert is vegan. Turned out that after ordering they could not actually provide this vegan dish . Very disappointing that their information is out of date. Sorbet the only other vegan dessert option. Nice, but pricey. Would go again for the lunch menu as sandwiches are unavailable after 5pm.

Met friends for coffee in the lounge-relaxing area, staff friendly as always We decided to stay to lunch-showed to a table in the restaurant-waitress was helpful friendly-ordered drinks-arrived quickly+water. We decided on t 2course offer menu-2 of us had risotto it was perfectly cooked and full of flavour 1 had t burger with fries friend said that was tasty too-pudds were super. Always a good atmosphere, good service and the food was perfect and reasonably priced-a great girls lunch.

Stayed for a 2 night break. Lovely room, ice breakfast and ate in the restaurant and wasn’t disappointed the food was mice and all the staff are lovely especially Taylor.

I have not been to George hotel for a long time. First impression very nice decors lot is space. We booked the resturant I expected something above average but the food was below average not impressed at all but the waiter he was super friendly. It will be good for hotel resident if they won’t fancy to go out in Colchester and explore other resturant.
