Contribuiți la feedbackThe restaurant was a bit loud, but not loud enough that we couldn't have a normal conversation. We thought the prices were kind of high, at least since the last time we were there. Drinks came quickly and were delicious. Loved the really dirty and really spicy. It was nice and spicy with a salty finish. Delicious! Dinner came quickly, as well. Tortellini with corn foam and mascarpone cream sauce was excellent. It could have done with a touch more salt, or some crispy pancetta or prosciutto or lardons on top. Nonetheless, it was excellent. The mushroom poke bowl was good, not great. The diner in my party who ordered it thought it could have had a bit more flavor, maybe a sauce to tie everything together. She also didn't care for the rice. She thought it should have been a sticky rice. The other diner in my party had the filet, and it was cooked to perfection. Accompaniments he described as weird, but tasty, nonetheless. Overall, it was a nice dinner in a restaurant we hadn't been to in a while.
The bar staff was borderline rude. He was confrontational and short with me. Not a good experience. The food and service was good but the encounter with Barman colored the rest of the evening for me. Doubt I will be back for my company dinners.
I have waited almost a week to write this because I needed to calm down a little. I made a reservation for 14 6 weeks in advance to celebrate my daughters high school graduation. I called the week before to confirm, and the person who answered was a little snippy and said they would call me the day of to confirm. First of all, they did not do that. Second of all, when convening 14 people it would be terrible to show up and there be no reservation for whatever reason. This really isn't a big deal, but is compounded by the experience when we were seated. They had a bunch of tables SQUISHED against the back wall where the bench and the wheel are. This meant that if half of the party seated against the wall had to use the rest room, we all had to squeeze between the table and wheel, and the person at the end of the other side of the table had to get up. I'm not small, but there were members of our party who were and they also had to shimmy. Frankly, it sucked. Then there was our server. I do not know if it was my table that made her angry, or if there was something else going on, but she started out semi pleasant and became intolerable and rude. It was bad enough that everyone noticed and it really impacted the already uncomfortable experience. Yes, we were a table of 14, but I made reservations weeks in advance our presence should not have been a surprise. Our tab was over $600, and I would have gladly tipped well and above the included 20% (we went somewhere else for our last graduation dinner and we added an additional 20% to the included gratuity) but I only added an additional 5%. Just a super disappointing experience.
Meh, food was not what I was expecting. It seemed really overpriced for what it was. Still trying to figure out what awards the poutine won
Stupendous. I haven't had food taste this good since I lived surrounded by farmers in upstate NY and bought directly from them. The care they put into sourcing their raw ingredients shows. Even the romaine in their Caesar salad was phenomenal, and it's not often you think of lettuce as having big flavor. The atmosphere is lovely too; dark and cozy, warm woods, some saved pieces of interesting equipment on display from the original building, and a whole long edge of the restaurant along the river. The prices are a little bit more than a typical dining out experience, but in my opinion very fair for the quality of the meal and experience. We left feeling incredibly satisfied and intending to come back.
