This establishment will promise you one price, overcharge you once you arrive, placate you until you leave, and then will never actually resolve the issue. Our Visit:I and two of my family members were promised a room for a 5 night stay at $795.00 plus tax (8.5% totaling to $862.58. After making our reservation the billing was changed and increased to 5 nights at $945.00 including tax (8.5% totaling to $1,025.33.When I saw this billing I called the hotel and they promised to revise the price once we had arrived. The hotel staff and owners did not change the price, and told me that the website software had been updated and they could do nothing about it. At the end of the trip I spoke to the owner one more time to give them one more chance to make things right. Resulting in him saying he was very sorry and would contact me in a couple days after he called the website updating company and make things right.I never received a call from the owner and the final bill was $1,025.33 a total of $230.33 more than what we were promised.Side Note:The overall feel of the hotel is better than places such as Days Inn. The Japan House also promised a large breakfast which they did not provide (their excuse was Covid-19 . Even though other businesses around were up and running. As far as when we were there, you will only be offered Oatmeal, Yogurt, or some Fruit. You might not care about this but if you have a cat allergy, like myself, you will not be able to eat in the dinning room. Since they let their cat walk all around and sleep on the chairs you would be sitting on.Final Note:Would we stay here again? Absolutely not. Ripped off. overcharged, overpromised, and undelivered. Stay elsewhere.
Checked in after hours. Kim was nice. Room was clean, spacious, and quiet. Kind of a high price for me during this time of the year. I was too tired to continue the drive. Kim came to greet us to see if we enjoyed the stay, and rested well before we left and to see if we left the key in the key box beside the door.
In a city like Coeur D'Alene hotels are quite expensive. We decided to roll the dice with the Japan house based on at least average reviews and book a 2 night stay. Noticed at check in there were 2 cats lounging on dining room chairs (next to the lobby/check in desk. I am highly allergic to cats, but decided after a 6 hour drive, to ignore it probably cleaning crews pets? Wrong. Came down for breakfast the next morning and they were sitting on chairs, at dining tables with guests in other chairs? What? Needless to say, we ate breakfast elsewhere. Rooms are ok for a motel and seemed clean enough, towels are paper thin, and the walls are very thin. We had to listen to next door guests t.v. until about midnight. Asked for cancellation of 2nd night due to cat allergies and unuseable breakfast room. The proprietor at first refused until we let her know we would contact VISA to refute 2nd night charges. She was not happy and let me and everyone in earshot know before we could get out the door. Hopefully, the owner has learned from our experience how not to treat a guest, but I sort of doubt it. Overall a very bad, ugly experience for us and a terrible way to discover Coeur d'Alene for the first time.

We were looking to stay one night on a Saturday. We were lucky enough to get a room here. It was half the price of all the hotels in town. The room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Mimi was was awesome, great food recommendation Moon Time) and she served a nice breakfast of fresh fruit, bagels, and yogurt. Definitely would recommend
