The Gentry - Cochrane

We stopped in here a couple of times during our recent visit to Cochrane. The Gentry maintains its high quality of both coffee and food. It is also a pleasant place to sit for a break and offers outdoor seating in summer.

Yes, some of their food is interesting and unique, BUT. overpriced beverages for the size you get, and typically loud music (for the employees more than the patrons)...you can hardly have a conversation. The last two times I was there, my lattes have not been hot enough, and when you bring it to their attention, they look at you like you're "so fussy". They aren't heating up the milk enough, and my lattes have been luke warm, at best...all for a premium price. No, we have too many other options in Cochrane now. I'm not paying for that.

Love the coffee and many choices of fresh baked goods...Not to mention wine! Lots of gluten free options!

This place has gone by many names over the years, but has always been a Cochrane gem. The Gentry continues on the long history with great espresso drinks and very delicious eats! I personally would stay away from the watered down brewed coffee which is overpriced, but anything from the espresso machine is sure to satisfy.The only negative part of a visit here is 50% of the time your going to deal with the traditional "Too Cool Hipster" barista. This can be overpowering at sometimes which is too bad.Excited to see extended hours and wine on the menu. This is the best coffee in Cochrane!

Friendly staff, great food, amazing coffee, exceptional feel and design. Will definitely be returning!
