Suju Sushi - Closter

The owners are so friendly and the sushi is amazing quality for the price.

Very mediocre quality. Tuna had both an unnatural color and plastic taste. Salmon was overly fatty. Very disappointing given all these great reviews.

Excellent new sushi spot in downtown Closter. Hanamo is a step up from your average neighborhood sushi joint. In terms of quality, I would rate it in line with Jugemu in Cresskill or Bon in Westwood. Prices are on the steeper side, but you are paying for high quality sushi. I ordered a Chirashi and a spicy salmon roll. Both were fantastic and feature high quality ingredients and great presentation. The restaurant is not very big. It has 6-7 tables so it can accommodate 20ish customers at any one time. Parking is available either on the street or in a lot a few steps from the restaurant.

The food was exceptional, definitely deserving of a perfect score. The service was equally impressive, with attentive and friendly staff. However, the atmosphere was a bit lacking, which is why I rated it a 3. I would highly recommend trying some of the standout dishes on the menu, but for vegetarians, I'd say it's somewhat worth checking out.

The sushi here is excellent, with top-notch quality. The owners are incredibly kind and friendly. The portion sizes are generous for the price. I will definitely be returning. Ratings: Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5.
