El Mexicano Tapas Tequila - Clifton

This place is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, they serve horrible food. We had nachos to start and the meat taste it like Perdue season and grilled chicken frozen from the bag. I know cause when I don’t want to cook that’s what I use. The food was very bland. The birria tostones were so dry they didn’t even bring out the birria dipping sauce. Anyway seems like you’re paying for the decorations. Also, when we arrived, the hostess greeted us very nicely and then when I told her we would be adding to our group she got frustrated and told me next time to call ahead so they can better prepare mind you we went from 4 to 5 people and the restaurant was empty. The drinks were great though, but I won’t be coming back for food.

I went on my birthday and the food here was amazing! The service was also great. Andrea made sure she checked in on us every so often. great place to go with friends. The drinks were amazing as well, the staff sang me happy birthday! Definitely recommend

Went for Happy Hour yesterday with my husband and they were packed. Luckily the host Andrea accommodated us at the bar and after a 15 wait we were sat at a table. the service was good for there being only two servers, Andrea was constantly checking in on us and everyone else making sure everything went smoothly. Definitely recommend coming in for happy hour on fridays! Shout out to the bartender, drinks were strong ;

We came for my best friend’s birthday on a Sunday, and it was a great experience. We had great service but Andrea who was the hostess really stepped it up and filled in to get our order, serve us drinks, and made sure we all had a great time. She could really run this place!! Great food, good drinks, good vibes- but Andrea really made it all run smoothly. They are lucky to have her!

Food and atmosphere was amazing. Wish the tables weren’t so small. My waitress was pleasant and helpful. Great place to bring a date.
