Contribuiți la feedbackGreat spicy marinara!. I used to love eating here while I lived in Clemson. The lobster ravioli with spicy marinara was my favorite!
Brioso is a great restaurant. I highly recommend trying the spinach pasta - it's delicious. The service was fantastic as well. My server, Amber, was friendly and knowledgeable about the Clemson area. She took the time to answer all my questions, which enhanced my dining experience.
First time to visit brioso. Was disappointed in portion control. Ordered ravioli to share and there was only 6 pieces. Talked to manager and said he has never had anyone complain. He did offer more, but did not have the time to stay. He did offer me dessert, I can't remember the name of the cake, but it was excellent. The food was super though!! If I would go back, I would order something else.
True Italian Cuisine. I ate at Brioso Fresh Pasta in Clemson, South Carolina last week while in town on business. I happened upon this small, very hip eatery as I was strolling the downtown area one evening. As I walked toward I noticed people were pouring out onto the sidewalk waiting to get inside. After eyeing this for a moment I decided to give it a try. I waited several minutes in line and finally managed to make my way inside. I saw plates of food that looked amazing and heard the sounds of laughter, conversation and cool music. The menu was a bit confusing as it is set up for you to assemble your own entree. After a quick tutorial from a very friendly young woman from behind the counter, I was able to peice together my own meal. I chose Penne pasta and bolognese sauce-not very creative, but safe. I payed for my meal and my glass of Chianti while I was at the bar/register-odd but cool. Upon ordering, I was given a pepper mill and told I could sit down wherever I would like. The options were limited, so I took a small table near the open kitchen and watched everything happen around me. I was brought a loaf of warm bread and olive oil several minutes after I sat down. It wasn't long after that my meal came. I assume the pepper mill was given to me so that they knew where to deliver my food. The penne was FRESH! Perfectly cooked and the sauce was like my mom used to make. I finished my meal rather quickly only because I noticed a line beginning to form at the door once again. I was only one person at a table that would hold four. I left a gratuity for the person who had given me the bread and attentive service during my visit. This is the first time I have been to Clemson but it will not be the last. I will visit this place every time I am here. Great experience!
We will definitely be returning for more. I was craving pasta and when I looked up local bistros on my phone, Brioso was the top choice, so we decided to give it a try. It's more of a Deli/Bistro setup, where you order and pay for your food at the counter and then seat yourself. I was a bit put off by the confusing way the menu is organized - you choose your pasta for a certain price, and then you have to pay extra for the sauce. Regardless, all dishes are priced at least $10 and there are no lunch specials. However, they do provide a never-ending basket of fresh bread with a delicious herb-infused olive oil dip, and the food is prepared fresh right in the kitchen behind the counter. They offer a variety of freshly made pastas, but be warned, they may run out of options by noon. Unfortunately, the three ravioli dishes I wanted to try were sold out, but the black truffle pasta and the four cheerful samplers I ended up choosing were quite tasty. The sauces are made to order and the dishes come out piping hot. Our server, Chip, was attentive and made sure our drinks never went empty and that the bread basket was always filled - he even packed up a few drinks for us to go, which we appreciated. One thing to note is that it's cash only for tipping, so be sure to bring some bills with you. I didn't realize this at the beginning of the meal and didn't feel comfortable tipping for service I hadn't received yet, but I will know for next time. Overall, a big thanks to the wonderful staff at Brioso!
