Island Cuisine - Clemmons

After reading positive reviews and seeing appetizing photos of the food, I decided to try the Vegetable Lumpia and Lechon Kawali at this restaurant. The Vegetable Lumpia, fried egg rolls filled with vegetables, was tasty. However, the sauce that accompanied it had a strong vinegar taste that I didn't enjoy, as I'm not a fan of vinegar. The Lechon Kawali was also good, although some pieces were over-fried, making them tougher than they should be. The pork belly was too fried in some parts, leading to a more enjoyable taste when eaten whole rather than separating the skin, fat, and meat. Some portions of the meat were a little dry. Overall, my experience was positive, although I was surprised to find that the restaurant had a fast food style. Nonetheless, I would return to try other dishes if I happen to be in the area again. The staff, particularly a young lady at the counter, was polite and helpful. I also found that when I reheated the leftover pork belly in the microwave, it tasted better and was softer.

This was my first time trying Filipino cuisine and I absolutely loved it! I'm looking forward to returning soon. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was enjoyable with the added bonus of watching various Super Bowl halftime shows during our visit.

This amazing restaurant is family-owned and serves delicious authentic Filipino dishes! Despite arriving close to closing time with a big group, the owners were welcoming and kind. They served the dishes in a family-style setting, which was a nice change from the usual individual portions with rice. Make sure to save room for dessert!

We had a wonderful afternoon at Island Cuisine Filipino Restaurant. Friendly service and great hospitality! The food was amazing! Highly recommended.

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here this evening. This is a place you order at front counter and get called when your food is ready. The flavors were good. I had the Pancit Bahon and my husband had the adobo chicken. We also shared an appetizer of lumpia.
