The Prickly Pear - Cleburne

The service here is outstanding, and the owner personally checks in with each table. The fried mushrooms are fantastic—like delicious little chips! The chicken-fried steak is decent, but not spectacular. The mac and cheese, okra, and mashed potatoes are all good choices as well. However, the real star isn't on the menu: the chili. Be sure to ask about it, as it isn't always available. The jalapeño cornbread is sweet and really tasty, and the hot, buttery yeast rolls are excellent too.

The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was both cozy and clean. The staff provided excellent service. This has become my new favorite dining spot.

We visited this restaurant after seeing its excellent reviews, and we were not disappointed! The food was fantastic, the service was top-notch, and the staff was very friendly. The Chicken Fried Steak and mashed potatoes took me back to the Western Cafe in Cloudcroft, NM, and the Homplate Diner in Lubbock. Treat yourself and stop by soon!
