Rumba Island Grill - Clearwater

My partner and I visited this restaurant for the first time last night and we were immediately impressed from the moment we stepped out of the car. The atmosphere and music outside were wonderful, and the hostesses greeted us with big smiles, setting a positive tone for our evening. We decided to sit inside and our server, Joe, welcomed us with a great attitude. Our drinks were on the table within 30 seconds of ordering, and Joe took the time to explain all of the specials and answer our questions thoroughly. He recommended excellent choices for us, and the food was not only fresh and delicious, but cooked to perfection. We particularly enjoyed the sweet potato fries, fresh vegetables, and perfectly cooked ruck huh. We highly recommend the roasted green tomatoes and butterflied coconut shrimp as appetizers. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant and would happily recommend it to others. Thank you, Joe and the Rumba staff!

After watching a beautiful sunset, we spotted Rumba from the road and decided to stop in. We were seated promptly and waited just a few minutes for our server Ray to welcome us and take our drink orders. My friend had the seafood gumbo, while I opted for the Caesar salad. Ray also brought out some delicious muffins before our meals arrived. My salad was tasty, and my friend's gumbo was full of flavor. The staff was friendly, the music was relaxing and fun, making for a great way to end our last night in Clearwater. Thanks, Rumba!

Updated on 08/27/24 with a new manager providing even better service. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I adore this restaurant; the food is fantastic, the staff is incredible, and the atmosphere is definitely worth visiting for. However, the downside is that the current manager on duty is not only rude and condescending to the employees but also seems to avoid making eye contact with anyone. When we had a minor issue with one of our orders, our waiter approached the manager, who was standing right next to our table, but he never acknowledged us or looked our way; instead, he just instructed to replace the dish.

I had the seafood boil. It was really good. Good assortment of various seafood. Always a great atmosphere at the outside bar with live music.

I got the Pineapple rum chicken with island veggies and spices island fries. Amazingly Juicy seasoned chicken breast, veggies seasoned perfectly, fries were crispy with the right amount of salty flavor. The fried green tomato’s were so flavorful and the jerk aïoli became the dipping sauce for my fries
