Cafe Central (davis School District Nutrition Services)

I heard that this place was inexpensive, but honestly, it isn't any cheaper than most options out there. The food is pretty much the same as what you would get in high school, but at fast food prices, if not a bit higher. I might come here in an emergency, but I couldn't make it a regular spot.

What a great hidden gem. Lots of good deli food options. Sandwiches and soups are great and they have some really good desserts. Did not know what to expect, but was really happy with the environment and food!

I love that they do catering! We get air of our desserts there for family reunions or large gatherings. They make some amazing peanut butter bars that our family absolutely love. Everything that we have had from there has been amazing and gentle on thewallet. Everything is always on time and tastes great!

If this is what the kids in Davis schools are getting for lunch, they’re really fortunate! Back in my day (which was quite some time ago), school lunches were often met with criticism and disdain. However, this meal was hot, delicious, and fairly priced. I believe many districts around the state and region could learn a lot from how well this one is managed. Hats off to you!

These ladies are amazing! Even when there's a line out the door, the service remains friendly and the quality of the food stays consistent. The home-cooked meals are fantastic, and the sandwiches are enormous. The rolls are delicious, and there are plenty of treats to satisfy your sweet tooth.
