Some of us started with drinks on the terrace, which was lovely; the bartenders were friendly and the service there was outstanding. For dinner, we moved inside. Initially, the service was decent. Our orders were taken promptly, and the bread served was tasty. The appetizers were mediocre, but the salads were enjoyable. Then we waited for the main courses. Unfortunately, one table received their food significantly earlier than the other. Our server seemed to have been reassigned or left during the dinner, which added to the confusion. I ordered salmon cooked very rare while my niece opted for medium well; the server mixed up our orders and only realized after I sent mine back. The replacement salmon was overcooked, which was disappointing. Thankfully, my Golden Retriever enjoyed it later. My mother, the star of the celebration, ordered a filet mignon but did not receive it until everyone else had finished their meals. The restaurant did not charge for that dish, which was a small consolation. Overall, we traveled a long way to create special memories with our parents, but our experience fell short. We chose not to stay overnight this time, as we had prior commitments, and drove back after dinner. It was a considerable journey for a mediocre meal and subpar service, especially considering the high prices. It’s a shame because this place has the potential to be great.

We were eager to utilize the swimming facilities, but upon arrival, we found the water to be green and cloudy—quite uninviting. During our first night, we dined at the on-site restaurant. Although the food wasn’t great, we attributed it to the late hour and decided to overlook it. The following day, we returned for breakfast at the same restaurant. However, we were met with unwelcoming attitudes from both the hostess and waitress, who seemed indifferent to having guests. The hostess mentioned that they were busy, but we could clearly see only three tables occupied, while the others remained dirty and uncleared. The waitress who eventually cleared our table spent most of her time complaining about the hostess and other guests trying to place their orders. Our simple breakfast took over an hour to arrive, and she forgot part of our order, which we ultimately decided to cancel. I would never dine there again and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. For the rest of our stay, we chose to eat off-site. Aside from the front desk staff, it felt like none of your employees were motivated to be there. The service was consistently poor, and we often encountered unprofessional attitudes. We attempted to use the concierge service multiple times, but nobody was ever available at the desk. The other staff we approached for local recommendations seemed to lack knowledge about the area.

I was really looking forward to visiting this hotel for my brother's wedding. We drove all the way from South Carolina, but the experience was, quite frankly, disappointing. The location was lovely, but our stay left much to be desired. Our room wasn't ready until after 5 PM, and both elevators were out of service, which left my parents stranded on the second floor since my mom uses a walker. The front desk staff seemed overwhelmed and were quite rude. Even though there were hardly any guests in the restaurant during breakfast, the staff still appeared to be stressed and disorganized. It's a real shame to see this at such a venue. I hope they can improve in the future.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel over July 4th holiday. Not only is it in a beautiful location with fabulous views, but the staff could not have been more warm, helpful and welcoming throughout our stay.We really appreciated how willing the staff was to work with us when we needed to change the dates of our stay. They made it happen with a simple phone call and were so accommodating to our request. When we arrived, they held onto our luggage while we explored Clayton. When our room was not quite ready on time, not only did they offer us a free beverage, but they actually upgraded us to a different room so we didn’t have to wait.The room itself was extremely clean, nicely decorated and well-kept. It had a beautiful balcony with a spectacular views.We enjoyed a nice dinner, and the large fire pit during the evening as well.A huge thank you to all of the wonderful staff that made our stay such a great experience. Overall a really great getaway and we absolutely look forward to returning and staying here again.

Room dirty, floors sticky, TV screen smeared from dirty cloth. No toilet paper. Took three calls to get sheets for pull out. Elevator broke. There was a sign in the BR to place towels on floor for exchange. We were gone the next day for about 7 hours. Came back and no one had touched our bathroom. We called the front desk and they stated we had to call for service. I referenced the signage in the bathroom . I was told the sign should’ve been taken out of the room. It was old! I referenced that maybe just maybe this info would be helpful upon check in. When we checked in my husband had a question and he was told they were busy and to check back with them later!!!! Food bad and wait staff indifferent. After waiting 15 min to be waited on had to find someone to help us. Staff snotty when waiting on us. Left no extra toilet paper in the bathroom!! Middle of night left stranded. Other patrons complaining of the same issues. AC lacking in many areas. Several people in line at checkout to have someone explain their bill… including us! Staff had a difficult time explaining. On top of all of this there was a $25.00 charge for check out! From the outside looks nice… but once you enter the inside… good luck!
