Contribuiți la feedbackIf you are driving in this area, I suggest making the stop to Tyrone Mills. It will take you back in time to show you how fresh donuts (think tiny tims donuts but better tasting) are made, as well as try some Apple Cider. This place is great to visit at any time especially the fall. The drive down with the colours will make for a memorable experience.
Love this place! So coolThey let you really see how things used to beI'm proud to have this place as a part of my regionWorth the visit.
I arrived there on a Sunday, at 10:30 and was somewhat disappointed that it didn't open until 11 AM. Nevertheless, I decided to wait. When I finally entered, I was somewhat disheartened that it was basically, just a shop with homemade products; no explanation on the mill's history, though there was a small exhibit of objects at the back of the building, and on the second floor. Now, I must admit the two who opened the mill were probably students; nevertheless, they seemed a little unprofessional. However, the cookies I bought were good.Maybe, it was just because it was Sunday;...
Both my wife & I LOVE the donuts there --- they are made right before your eyes. The apple cider is good, & they have a SUPER variety of hot sauces for sale, as well…The place is quite historic, too, & worth exploring around whilst there. It appears to have been essentially unchanged lo these many years.
I have always loved visiting Tyrone Mills during the fall and smelling the apples being crushed into cider. So great to take it home, add a cinnamon stick and heat it up. The perfect fall drink. I love the smell and the sound of the mill and all the treats there to sample!
