China Boat Chinese & Thai Restaurant

I have eaten here numerous times and all have been OK. Nothing was amazing, but the food was good and the service was great. My family did the buffet on the weekend and I was disappointed. I think they were trying to keep the buffet servers fresh by not having them full, but the restaurant started to fill up and often the serving trays were empty. It was disappointing overall.

China Boat restaurant opened ten months ago and we have meant to try it since but somehow things always manage to get in the way. Finally got around to it and am disappointed we did not get there earlier. Went for a late lunch and they had six different daily specials. I had ginger beef, steamed rice, vegetables and spring roll.I must say it was the best that I have had in such a long time. Beef was spicy and crispy in a fabulous sauce, spring roll crispy and delicious. There was more food on my plate then I thought I could eat, but it was so good that I finished it knowing that I would be over full. Suffice to say I did not require a dinner later that day. To try more things they have a dinner buffet on Friday and Sunday.

We had ate here before, but it had changed hands. We were disappointed in the quality of the food, and it really didn't have alot of flavour. We ordered take out, so I can't comment on the service. We will not be returning.

Thought I would give it a try again. Ordered and paid for war wonton soup. Picked it up and it did not even have a green onion in it's broth( watery tasteless ). Opened the chicken chowmein to find full of noodles, two pieces of chicken, one small shredded carrot ( and that's being generous), not all the noodles even had sauce. For those that have great meals, I am jealous as we have yet to experience this and we have tried.

Stopped here for dinner on the drive from Lethbridge to Calgary airport. My wife and I shared the Thai dinner for two. It was fantastic! All the dishes were very tasty and perfectly spiced. The portions were huge and the wait time was minimal. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. The restruant is on the highway, so it is a convenient stop on the drive to Calgary. Will definitely get dinner here again!
