Stellar Kitchen at Clarenville Inn

We were a group of 15 booked for a Christmas dinner. We were provided with online menus that were only available for groups of 20, but were not informed that we could not order from these menus until later. Instead, we were given a menu with options for an appetizer, main dish, and dessert. However, we were then informed that there were only two main dish options - salmon or ham, leaving some people with no other choice. Those who ordered ham had to have mashed potatoes as a side, while those who ordered salmon only had the option of rice. It was not explained why we were limited in our choices. We were seated in a dark and isolated cellar. The servers were friendly, but the food was overcooked and my dessert was cold. For a $45 meal with a mandatory gratuity, I would have expected more variety in the menu. I am not sure if my group will return next year.

We stopped here for lunch, but it was a mistake. My BLT consisted of two pieces of toasted bread, a slice of tomato, a piece of lettuce, and a small piece of bacon. Even Tim Horton's gives you more. I had requested cheese on my BLT and a side salad instead of fries. I ended up paying an extra $5 for a thin slice of plastic cheese and a salad drowned in dressing with nothing else. Definitely not worth it. I regret not sending the meal back and going to the nearby Quiznos instead.

We recently visited a restaurant and were disappointed with the experience. We were told there was a 45-minute wait for a table, and when we returned, our table had been given away. We were then informed there would be at least a 40-minute wait for dinner. Reluctantly, we agreed and only ordered a starter for speed. While the scallops were good, there were only 5 of them. The turkey and sweet soup was bland, with just carrot cubes and occasional pieces of turkey. The next day, we tried another restaurant in the opposite direction, but were again disappointed. The soup tasted the same as the night before, and the cod we ordered was small. The stir-fried vegetables were just more cubes of carrots and beets, which was a letdown. The servers were friendly, but even they seemed uncomfortable working with such poor quality food. It's a shame to see such potential in a nice dining room wasted on bad cooking. The one star goes to the cod and scallops.

The restaurant was recommended by a friend and it was not disappointed. the inside of the restaurant is cozy and beautiful. the food was delicious it was hot and fresh. service was great and the staff was very friendly. will come back to eat here.

My daughter took me to lunch at the Stellar and it was wonderful. The waitress was sweet and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was serene
