Contribuiți la feedbackSuper lovely cafe in the heart of Galway city, staff were so lovely, tea was 10/10
It's a small shop, but it's very simple. The latte and the Chai Latte taste good. They also have a small cake selection that looks appealing.
Lovely café with great coffee and desserts. The shop is really nice as well
I love the atmosphere, the staff is lovely and the items that they are selling are so Cute. Cakes are good and coffee too. The chaï latte is also amazing
We were regulars of Fairhill and sister cafe Ré and Design until very recently. Unfortunately we were given cow 's milk in our lattes instead of our regular coconut once in Fairhill and twice in Ré and now we 're not as keen on either café anymore. For those of us avoiding cow 's milk for health, environmental or ethical reasons (or all three) this is unacceptable. The standard surcharge for alternative milks is a disappointment. Google 'coffee milk extra cost charge starbucks ' for a more enlightened approach. Thanks Sinéad for taking the time to respond and apologise. The review of Ré is from some months ago but may only have gone live recently, along with a review of Fairhill, after a link to the article you mention, but haven’t read, was removed. I can appreciate that a less than favourable review can be a source of upset and concern for a small business owner, but this is as nothing compared to how upset we were as on being given cow 's milk on not 1 but 3 seperate occasions within weeks of one another across your 2 cafés. On the first 2 occasions, the matter was in fact brought to the attention of your staff in Ré and after the 2nd occurrence (we put the 1st down to sh*t happens) in a separate review to mine, but no lessons were learned human error, a busy cafe (it wasn 't particularly on either occasion), distracted customer? etc can 't explain that away. Your staff in Fairhill was also made aware on the 1 occasion it happened there subsequently. All that is needed to avoid a reoccurrence is for staff to be instructed to confirm the order on making the coffee it 's that simple. There are other sensible suggestions in the article I shared on how cafés can ensure that those opposed to dairy for ethical reasons, or avoiding it for health reasons, including due to an intolerance to dairy, can avoid being given a coffee drink made from cow 's milk through carelessness. I get that that there is less of a profit to be made from selling coffees made from plant milks vs cow’s milk. A surcharge might not seem fair to those of us avoiding cow’s milk and they aren 't. But until the EU provides just as much financial support to producers of alternatives as it does to dairy or until cafés decide to ask for that bit more for regular coffee drinks and that bit less for plant based alternatives in a bid to level the playing field, then I suppose we will just have to grin and bear it.
